Lulu and WedPics Announce a Strategic Partnership that Utilizes Picture.com to Bring Unique, High-Quality Photo Books to Newlyweds and Their Guests

Integrated product unlocks digital photos from smartphones and computers with physical keepsake; will launch in August

RALEIGH, NC – July 10, 2013 – Lulu and WedPics, the personalized photo-sharing app for weddings, today announced their strategic partnership that utilizes Picture.com to merge the appeal of a traditional wedding album with the ease of crowd-sourcing and sharing photos online. The partnership bridges the gap between digital and physical with professional quality, easy-to-produce keepsakes from Picture.com. The integrated offering, which is scheduled to launch in August, will allow WedPics users to access their photos directly from Picture.com where they can create custom photo books and calendars.

Picture.com extends the WedPics user experience by allowing the wedding party, families and guests to create custom photo books from the photos that everyone captured to celebrate the occasion.

“WedPics complements our vision for Picture.com by providing a unique offering to an audience making memories that will last a lifetime,” said Brian Matthews, executive vice president of marketing, corporate development and strategy at Lulu. “Together, we’re able to provide a quality keepsake of the pictures captured in the WedPics app to newlyweds, their families, guests and friends. As we look to the future of Picture.com, partnering with companies that extend the user experience and support our commitment to a quality product will accelerate our growth momentum.”

Since the company’s launch in 2012, WedPics has provided a personalized, private social network that allows photos from any wedding or wedding-related event to be collected in a single digital location, capturing the entire wedding experience. WedPics’ network of over 275,000 users share more than 43,000 photos every day, or 1 photo every 2 seconds. In addition to weddings, users have been choosing WedPics for events such as Bar Mitzvahs, corporate parties and family reunions. The platform was built with versatility in mind and can be easily customized for use in other private social events.

Through Picture.com, we’re able to easily relay memories into remarkable keepsakes and heirlooms that complement the professional photography from the wedding,” said Justin Miller, CEO and co-founder, WedPics. “Backed by the strength of Lulu, another Raleigh-based company, Picture.com is the platform-of-choice as we prepare for continued growth and expansion into other major life events. We look forward to ongoing success with WedPics as we offer a premium quality keepsake with Picture.com.”

Both Lulu and WedPics are based in Raleigh, NC.
